1. What FontChimp is
FontChimp generates brand-new, original display fonts from a style cue (a reference image or a text description). FontChimp is an original-font generator, not a font cloner or identifier. The reference image is used only as a style prompt — its actual letterforms never appear in the output, and FontChimp does not identify, name, or attempt to reproduce any existing typeface.
2. Originality of outputs
Each font produced by FontChimp is a fresh, self-consistent alphabet generated from scratch. The vector outline data in the delivered font file is new work. FontChimp retains the right to sell non-exclusive fonts to multiple buyers (see Licensing).
3. Credits & payment
Fonts are created using credits, sold in one-off packs. 1 credit = 1 generation attempt. There is no subscription. A credit is consumed only when a generation produces a usable font that passes FontChimp's automated quality checks. If our QA rejects an output (for example a missing or broken letter), the credit is refunded automatically. Downloading and keeping any font you generate is free. Credits do not expire for at least one year from purchase.
4. Licensing
Unless you purchase an exclusive buyout, fonts are licensed non-exclusively: the same font remains in the public gallery and may be purchased by others. You may use fonts you generate or buy for personal and commercial projects. You may not resell or redistribute the font files themselves as a competing font product.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use FontChimp to attempt to reproduce a specific existing commercial typeface, or to upload images you don't have the right to use. We may remove fonts or refuse service at our discretion.
6. No warranty
Generation is non-deterministic and provided “as is.” We make no guarantee that a given generation will match your vibe. That's why credits buy attempts, and broken results are free.
